How to perform

§ 02 · Steps
  1. 01

Sit in the seated leg curl machine and adjust the seat so your knee joint is aligned with the machine's pivot.

  2. 02

Place your ankles behind the roller pad just above your Achilles tendon and keep your thighs firmly against the thigh pad.

  3. 03

Grip the handles and brace your core: keep your core tight and your hips firmly on the seat.

  4. 04

Curl your knees by pulling the roller down and back under control, squeeze your hamstrings at the top, and hold a brief contraction.

  5. 05

Slowly and under control, lower the weight back to the starting position without letting your glutes lift off the seat.

Tips

§ 05 · Tips

Keep the movement at the knee joint and avoid lifting your hips or overextending your lower back. Adjust the weight so you can perform the full range of motion and a controlled lowering phase.

This exercise isolates the hamstrings and allows you to load them safely on the machine.
