Position yourself in the Smith machine with the bar resting across your upper back (not your neck), feet shoulder-width apart, and toes pointed slightly outward. Keep your chest up.
- 02
Grip the bar with an even grip, brace your core, and keep your spine neutral.
- 03
Lower yourself under control into a full squat by bending your knees and hips. Let your knees track over your toes and keep your heels on the floor.
- 04
Pause briefly at the bottom without letting your position collapse, and keep your weight evenly distributed across your entire foot.
- 05
Drive yourself up by extending your knees and hips. Keep the bar stable on the Smith rails and maintain core tension throughout the entire repetition.
