How to perform

§ 02 · Steps
  1. 01

Lie on a flat bench and hold the dumbbells above your chest with your palms facing each other.

  2. 02

Pull your shoulder blades back and down, brace your core, and keep a slight bend in your elbows throughout the movement.

  3. 03

Lower the dumbbells in a wide arc out to your sides until you feel a stretch in your chest without letting your shoulders roll forward.

  4. 04

Tips

§ 04 · Tips

Keep your chest open and your shoulder blades back and down so the movement targets your chest muscles instead of shifting to your shoulders. Choose weights that allow you to maintain the same elbow angle so the movement does not turn into a dumbbell bench press.
