How to perform

§ 02 · Steps
  1. 01

Grab the pull-up bar with an overhand grip and hang with your arms straight, keeping your shoulder blades pulled back and down.

  2. 02

Brace your core and keep your ribs down to prevent your pelvis from tilting uncontrollably.

  3. 03

Raise your legs under control by flexing your hips and curling your torso until your toes touch the bar.

  4. 04

Briefly squeeze your abs at the top and keep your shoulders active without hanging passively.

  5. 05

Lower your legs slowly back to the starting position under control, and stop any swinging before the next rep.

Tips

§ 04 · Tips

Start the movement by tilting your pelvis backward so the lift comes from your abs rather than just swinging. If your grip gives out, use chalk or perform the knees-to-chest variation first.
