Dumbbell V-up (VERSION 3)

This exercise places a high demand on the abdominal muscles because the upper and lower body rise simultaneously against the added resistance of the dumbbell.

How to perform

§ 02 · Steps
  1. 01

    Lie on your back and hold a dumbbell with both hands over your chest, with your legs straight on the floor.

  2. 02

    Brace your core and simultaneously raise your upper body and straight legs toward each other, keeping the dumbbell under control throughout the movement.

  3. 03

    Bring the dumbbell toward your feet at the top position and squeeze your abs without allowing your lower back to round uncontrollably.

  4. 04

    Slowly lower your upper body and legs back to the starting position, maintaining control of the dumbbell and keeping your lower back lightly supported against the floor.

Keep the movement controlled and avoid using momentum. If your lower back lifts significantly off the floor, use a lighter dumbbell or bend your knees slightly.
