What it works

Builds your core and obliques by resisting side bending. It improves posture, balance and carrying strength in daily life and the gym.

What it should feel like

You should feel your abs and obliques keeping your torso upright. It should not feel like strain in your lower back or a shrugging shoulder.

Most common mistake

A common mistake is leaning toward the weight or going too heavy. Use a lighter dumbbell and brace your core throughout the walk.

Tips

§ 05 · Tips

Keep your free arm relaxed by your side and maintain a natural stride length. If you lean toward the loaded side, reduce the weight and brace your core more firmly before continuing.

This exercise develops core stability during walking and load tolerance with a single-sided load.
