Grip the bar with an overhand grip at shoulder width and let your body hang with your arms straight and your feet off the ground.

Lightly engage your shoulders by pulling your shoulder blades down to keep your neck from shrugging into your shoulders, and brace your core.

Hold the position as long as you can maintain a secure grip and steady breathing.

Lower yourself under control or step onto a support; do not drop directly from the hang.
