How to perform

§ 02 · Steps
  1. 01

Lie on your back and anchor the resistance band to a sturdy attachment point above your head so the band is under light tension with your arms straight.

  2. 02

Grip the band with an underhand grip, brace your core, gently press your lower back into the floor, keep your chest up, and keep your shoulders down.

  3. 03

Pull the band toward your sides by bending your elbows and pulling your shoulder blades back and down, keeping your elbows close to your body.

  4. 04

Squeeze your back briefly at the top without letting your shoulders rise toward your ears.

  5. 05

Lower back to the starting position with control until your arms are straight, and maintain tension in the band throughout the movement.

Tips

§ 04 · Tips

Keep your wrists in a neutral position and your elbows close to your sides so the pull targets your back rather than your biceps. Adjust the resistance by moving farther from the anchor point or using a stiffer resistance band.
