Lie face down on the reverse hyperextension machine with your hips supported on the edge of the pad and your legs hanging freely.

Grip the handles firmly, brace your core, and keep your back in a neutral position.

Raise your straight legs until they are level with your hips by squeezing your glutes, not by swinging.

Lower your legs back to the starting position under control and maintain core tension throughout the entire repetition.

You should feel it in your glutes and a bit in your hamstrings. It should not feel like your lower back is doing the work.
A common mistake is swinging the legs or overextending the lower back. Lift with control and squeeze your glutes at the top.
