How to perform

    Stand facing the cable with your feet hip-width apart, keep your knees slightly bent, and brace your core.

  2. 02

    Grip the straight bar with an underhand grip, palms facing up, at shoulder width.

  3. 03

    Keep your elbows close to your body and push the bar down until your arms are straight and you feel a strong contraction in your triceps.

  4. 04

    Return the bar to the starting position under control, resisting the movement, and avoid swinging your body.

What it should feel like

You should feel it in your triceps, especially at the bottom. You should not feel it mostly in your wrists or shoulders.

Most common mistake

A common mistake is letting your elbows drift. Keep them close to your sides and your wrists in line with your forearms.

Keep your elbows fixed close to your body throughout the movement. Avoid bending your wrists, and keep your wrists aligned with your forearms.
