  1. 01

    Lie on a flat bench and take a narrow underhand grip on the EZ bar.

  2. 02

    Raise the bar with your arms straight above your chest and brace your core so your shoulder blades stay lightly pulled together.

  3. 03

    Lower the bar under control toward your forehead or just behind the top of your head by bending only your elbows and keeping your upper arms as still as possible.

  4. 04

    Press the bar back up by fully extending your elbows to lockout and squeeze your triceps at the top.

Keep your elbows close and your upper arms still so the movement doesn't turn into a press. Choose a weight that allows you to keep your wrists neutral and the lowering phase fully controlled.
