Sit down on the hip abduction machine, and adjust the seat and resistance so your knees are aligned with your hips.

Sit firmly against the backrest, brace your core, and keep your shoulders relaxed.

Push your feet or the pads outward slowly and under control from the hips until you feel your glutes contract.

Return your legs to the starting position under control while breathing, and avoid rocking your torso.
