How to perform

§ 02 · Steps
  1. 01

Stand with your feet wide apart and the kettlebell between them. Rotate your upper body slightly toward the kettlebell so that more weight shifts onto the leg on the kettlebell side.

  2. 02

Grip the kettlebell with the hand on the kettlebell side, brace your core, keep your back neutral, and hinge at the hips by pushing your hips back.

  3. 03

Pull the kettlebell up by extending your hips and knees at the same time. Let the thoracic rotation unwind toward a neutral position and squeeze your glutes at full extension.

  4. 04

Lower the kettlebell back down with control by hinging at the hips, and rotate your upper body toward the kettlebell again while maintaining scapular support and keeping your shoulders down.

  5. 05

Return the kettlebell to the floor and repeat for the desired number of repetitions, switching sides between sets if needed.

Tips

§ 04 · Tips

Keep your core braced throughout the entire repetition, and initiate the rotation from your thoracic spine, not your lower back. Keep the kettlebell close to your body and distribute your weight evenly through your foot, especially through your heel.
