Bridge Hip Abduction

This exercise targets the glutes and teaches you to keep your pelvis stable in the bridge position without added weight.

How to perform

§ 02 · Steps
  1. 01

    Lie on your back with your knees bent and your feet flat on the floor. Keep your arms at your sides and brace your core.

  2. 02

    Drive through your heels and lift your hips into a bridge so your knees, hips, and shoulders form a straight line, and squeeze your glutes firmly.

  3. 03

    Slowly move your knees outward into hip abduction while keeping your feet flat on the floor and your hips at the same height.

  4. 04

    Bring your knees back to the starting alignment with control and keep your hips elevated the entire time.

  5. 05

    Lower your hips to the floor with control and repeat.

Keep your spine neutral and your rib cage down. Do not overextend your lower back in the bridge position. Perform the hip abduction slowly and stop the movement if your hips begin to rotate or drop.
